wrapped

After the resounding success of our Wrapped in St Marys event, it’s wonderful to relive it through the many photographs that were taken.

Editing and uploading them is a mammoth task due to the sheer numbers of images.

However, I’m making good progress, and you can now enjoy the event virtually here …

Enjoy!

2013 program

It’s building up to be a wonderful Wrapped in St Marys event this year!

A number of businesses and community organisations are participating – more than in 2012, which is great.

Some have even offered discounts on presentation of the program!

Street art, exibitions, the annual car show and more are on offer.

AND the latest news is that there will be a shuttle bus service around the streets, thanks to Community Transport Services Tasmania.  Great for anyone who isn’t as mobile as they would like to be!

The program also includes details about where to eat, where to stay and even where to go to church on Sunday.

Time to start making plans to come and stay for a great weekend!  And don’t forget your winter woollies …

funding?

i’ve been silent for a while, mainly because we’re waiting on some important news

recently we were encouraged to apply for funding to our local council so we could make wrapped in st marys an annual event

Wrapped in St Marys 2012

after filling in the application we’ve been told by a council officer that our application has been approved in principle

hooray – this is fantastic news!

the council meeting is on monday 17 december – i can’t wait to hear what their final decision is …

The car show was well supported despite the rain, as mentioned in the previous post.

The second highlight event for Wrapped in St Marys was the car show.

This is held every year on the first Sunday in June by the St. Marys Cranks and Tinkerers.  Despite the rain, Faulkner’s Green in the town centre was full of classic and/or unique cars, driven by enthusiasts from the local area and across the state.

Michael Rowlings of Herrick was the winner of a cheque* and other goodies; all the visiting drivers also received a show bag of car-related items which had been donated by a number of organisations and individuals.

Many thanks to all who had a part to play in making this 6th annual car show a success, including the Break O’Day Woodcraft Guild for providing public liability insurance.

Here’s a slideshow of some of the highlights:
