the amazing ashton in action

Juggling in the rain wasn’t really an option, so The Amazing Ashton strutted his stuff in the St. Marys Town Hall.

Here he is in action, using a variety of ‘tools’, including plastic bags stuffed with newspaper (these are safer to practice with than knives); some of his ‘students’ were also caught on camera –

church all wrapped up

Not only the power poles were wrapped during the weekend of 2 and 3 June – the Anglican Church in the main street was wrapped in a giant ribbon and bow, made from sheets!

Here are some photos, taken by Carole Withers –

Great to see the church community getting into the ‘Spirit’ of things!  =D

inaugural event

The first Wrapped in St Marys took place in the town of St Marys in Tasmania on 2 and 3 June 2012.

A cold but sunny winter Saturday morning saw intrepid exhibitors wrapping the poles in textile art – they themselves were also wrapped up against the frosty air!

A yarnbomber called stitchedupmama was also at work …

Here’s a sample photo –

Michelle from the St. Marys Child Care was also putting up their entry; that’s the St. Marys Historic Hotel in the background –
