exhibitions 1

During the Wrapped in St Marys weekend, several exhibitions appeard in various venues around the town.

Barbara Mellor, a textile artist from the local Break O’Day municipality, specialises in using Asian fabrics, including Japanese antique kimono and obi.  She also incorporates other materials, such as Cambodian woven fabric and Indian sari fabric.

Not only the power poles were wrapped during the weekend of 2 and 3 June – the Anglican Church in the main street was wrapped in a giant ribbon and bow, made from sheets!
